9 Months Old

Happy 9 Months Adelyn! You are growing so fast, I wish we could pause you right now! At 9 months you are weighing 22 pounds. You are trying to crawl really bad, you go backwards - it's so funny. You love to eat snacks and yogurt, and holding on to the couch and walking along. You are even drinking water and juice out of a sippy cup and you are taking 1 bottle a day of breast milk. Mommy is trying to get you use to a bottle and sippy since at 1 year we will stop breastfeeding. That should be real interesting!! Not looking forward to those days ahead, but we will be ok........as long as you got your paci right!? You still have no teeth and Daddy just loves that, he tells you he loves your 'toothless smile', I have to admit it makes our heart melt, about as much as those big juicy legs you have. Your favorite tv show is still Yo Gabba Gabba - you even have a DVD of it to watch in the car, and Big Brother bought you a Wonder Pets DVD for the car as well, with his own money!! Sweet Steven! You and Olive enjoy our daily walks in the community to go meet Steven at his school to walk home! You both also enjoy playing toys in the morning together!! We love you Adelyn Lake!!!!

Our Baby Is BACK

Adelyn is all better and back to her happy self, thank you JESUS. On Thursday we went back to the doctor - they checked her ears - which are all clear, and checked out lungs and such - all is fine. She was starting to actually play on the floor again yesterday after the Doctor's visit. I then knew Adelyn was back. I only had to give her tylenol 1 time on Thursday and she slept great that night.......so here we are on Friday and she is FINE. YAY - We even enjoyed a beautiful day at the zoo today.

First Ear Infection & Roseola Rash

As you can see in the pictures, Addy has Roseola rash! Ugh - it finally got Addy, her first ear infection - at almost 9 months old. Poor baby has had a mystery fever since last Friday - I thought it was her teeth coming in. Then last night, she had mommy up since 2:45am, and then I knew - knew it had to be her ears. She was then tugging on them as well. I called early that next morning and got her an appointment. Sure enough when the doc looked in her ears - he said 'oh yes, it's obvious'. I'm just glad we started an antibiotic today, also ear drops - to numb the pain. Today she started her meds and already seemed a little better - miracle...she also caught up on all the sleep she missed the night before, Mommy didn't get to catch up yet - but I plan to tonight, ha.....it broke Mommy & Daddy's heart to hear Addy scream and cry all night - we felt so helpless! On top of the ear infection - addy just seemed to be cranky everyday, we found that a little odd since the meds should have kicked in......so on Tuesday she had diarrhea all day long, I thought it was from the antibiotics. I called and talked to the nurse and she explained that the anti she is on doesn't cause that and a bug is actually going around with ear infections. So ok, then on Wednesday - NO more diarrhea....but a rash started to break out on addy - around the neck and torso area. I was like UGH so she is allergic to the antibiotic. I called the nurse and NOPE - I explained everything to her and she said 'ok, she has Roseola' and then it clicked...I remember Jade and Steven both having this when baby's...........the nurse explained that is why she had the mystery fever last week, then the diarrhea on Tues and the rash Wed. That's Roseola......and it comes with ear infections and throat irritations as well, NICE! Needless to say - Adelyn is super cranky, and isn't sleeping well at all. I have researched all over the Internet and every parent explaines the same thing - their baby's are super cranky and irritable........once the rash appears they normally slowly but surely start to get better.......this is day 2 of the rash and let me tell you - I WANT MY BABY BACK!!!!!!!!!!!! She is so clingy, and only wants her MOM, she wants to just be held, doesn't eat like she normally does, for sure isn't sleeping good and just isn't happy!!!!! Even with tylenol and motrin around the clock! Roseola get out of our LIVES!!!!!!!!!! You are not welcome here!!!!

On another note - Adelyn weighs 22 pounds! My lil piggy.....

It's FUN being Young

Well Adelyn is the BABY in our house - no one forgets that. She gets ALL the attention, her big Brother and Big Sis LOVE her. That's why Adelyn is not crawling yet - she never gets the chance. Either Mommy, Daddy, Steven or Jade are holding her......Don't let Addy fool you though - she LOVES all this attention and play time she gets. I love to watch her face light up when Jade, Steven & Daddy come home! Priceless...

Adelyn DOES cry - PROOF

We have been asked by people 'is Addy always happy?' - as you can see, she does cry - at times. Not very much but it happens, so sad........Gotta love it

Jade - Will Need Braces

There is something about your first born for all of us Mom's.........they hold a very special place in your heart. Jade, like her MOM - needs braces. She is actually getting an expander and bottom braces placed in next Monday. She is excited, she just has no clue the pain she will be in - she is however excited to have her teeth fixed before high school. That was all she kept telling us, she wants her teeth pretty before high school. The good thing is that she only needs minor work - unlike her Mom. I needed tons of work at her age....so thankfully she doesn't. Poor Jade - I know next Monday she will need plenty Advil - got you covered Jade - and remember, it's all worth it in the end...........

Destination Imagination (DI)

Steven has been in a club this year at school - it's called DI, for Destination Imagination. He actually had to try out for this - there were auditions, and my bright son made it! He stayed after school one day a week for a while now and as the competition got closer he stayed everyday after school (with the team) to practice on their play. Steven was the police man! HAA, he did a great job. His friend Alex also was on the team - he was the dog. We got to watch Steven and his team last Saturday - they placed 6th place and we were so proud. Go Steven, after we took the kids to saltgrass to enjoy some delicious dinner!!

Lunch with Steven

Adelyn and I went to have lunch with Steven this week - that made his day. Adelyn didn't complain either! Steven has such a pretty school, brand new as well.....his classmates loved Adelyn and all wanted to talk to her. We sort of drew a little bit of a crowd that day, the teacher's kept having to tell the other kids to go back to their table and eat, ha. Adelyn sure enjoyed the attention, but mostly loved seeing her Brother.....We love you Steven and truly enjoyed our lunch date!!
